In week 7, I was focusing on shot 2. I did the face tracking with Keen Tools first. After I get it done, I downloaded the rough model for her face detail that built by Eugene. I set up the lighting in Maya for shot2, and got it match the movement with my face tracking geomatry.
And after that, I star to comp everything in Nuke. I put the CG in first, see if it match the movement.
It was perfectly match the movements, I feel really proud of myself. And then I see the hair is not right, so I did Roto for her hair.
I use two techniques to get all her hairs out. First I use Luma Key to get those hair details, that also helped me get the shadows on her face too. Second, I just roto big hairs one by one. It sounds hard, but by combining a 2D tracker, that was not the hard.
Next, I want to add a spark in this shot. So I find a spark footage that I like from out source, and put it in. And of course, the spark need to match the glow to the lamp in live-action.
After that, I did Roto job for the fore ground – the table and her right arm. And because of the camera movement is tilt-up, and the lines of the table and her arm are very clean, I was able to use the roto tracking the image, it helped me save a lot time.
Here is my Nuke script for shot 2.
Clean Cut
I also put all shots together for my team. And I was doing the color grading at the end too. Here is our clean cut for this week.
